Heineken is the most recent with its ad of a beer passing by a dark-skinned African-American to a light-skinned African-American, with the phrase, “Lighter is Better.” Sensitivity Reading is an emerging industry available to content creators who want to alleviate unintentional bias or racism in their books, in magazines, ad campaigns, television, film, gaming, app development and more. Would you like to learn to be a reader?

[close] This global discussion group has been designed to encourage debates about important and underreported issues of our era. All you need is an enquiring mind and a desire to gain or share “underground knowledge”. This is also a place to discuss the controversial topics explored in The Underground Knowledge Series (non-fiction books) by James Morcan & Lance Morcan as well as the Underground Knowledge podcast show.

[close] We read and discuss fiction that raises social consciousness with regards to race/ethnicity. We also use non-fiction works as a supplement to expand our understanding of the topics touched on in the novel we're discussing. You don't have to be "woke" to join the group, but all members should be willing to read and respectfully discuss the (sometimes touchy) topics at hand with the aim of greater understanding.

[close] "For Indians /non Indians/Earthlings/Aliens, who have a zeal to read and are passionate about books" says the Creator of this group :) To add to it, this group is for just about any gentle, non-argumentative soul who is interested in anything Indian. Make sure you bring along a good sense of humor ;) and a broad mind. This is a democratic group,that wants to discuss books, make friends and basically just have fun. Moderators are here just to do some dirty jobs, so feel free to suggest any ideas you might have to improve this group. We started off as an open group, but then seemed to attract all sorts of rude, abusive disruptive elements. So with great deliberations we decided to make it a private group attempting to screen in those who are genuinely interested, and not those who join for promoting their work by hook or by crook, and those who are bent upon stalking vulnerable individuals. Accepting you here shows our trust in you, and you may reciprocate being an active, friendly member ;-) We are a peace loving group and would like to stay that way! Authors are welcome, but please try to stick to the "promotions" folder if you want to promote your book.
