[close] This is a group for people interested in reading books to skill themselves up. Come join us and learn something new today whether it's programming, accounting, starting a business, crafting, or underwater basket weaving. Everyone who wants to improve their skills by reading and applying what they read to the real world is welcome here! This group has a strong emphasis on learning and improving concrete tangible skills, not generic self-help such as mindset or dreaming big etc. This group is restricted to adults only in order to keep discussions mature and of a higher caliber in addition to allowing the discussions here to be less restricted.

[close] Learning science is a multidisciplinary field, drawing from decades of research and practice in areas like cognitive psychology, neuroscience, education, computer science, and linguistics; this rich history has left us with a body of evidence to support adult learning at scale. Unfortunately, the Learning & Development practice has historically been a matter of accumulated folk wisdom instead of being built on a foundation of meticulously researched evidence. The books we'll discuss in this group are meant to help bridge the gap between the empirical research and the L&D practice. If you're interested in the science of learning, please join this group!
