[close] This book forum is for parents who are raising children to love themselves and others. We feature support for parents raising African American and Black children, which includes parents of biracial children and adoptive parents of any ethnicity. There will be book recommendations to support parents and their children. As an educator, author, editor, and parent, I would love to connect with other parents who see the need for imparting solid literacy skills to their pre-school, kindergarten, early readers, emerging readers, and reluctant readers. From social emotional learning (SEL) to building literacy skills to developing academic excellence, our members believe books are a gateway to understanding the world around us and ourselves. As the saying goes, "Readers are leaders!"

[close] This is the group page for the Open Books West Loop Book Club. The OBWLBC was founded in February 2016 by Open Books volunteers who wanted to share their love of literature with fellow nerds. We've welcomed members form the Open Books community, their friends, and all book lovers ever since. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 6:15-7:15pm at Open Books West Loop (651 West Lake Street). Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome.
