[close] This book forum is for parents who are raising children to love themselves and others. We feature support for parents raising African American and Black children, which includes parents of biracial children and adoptive parents of any ethnicity. There will be book recommendations to support parents and their children. As an educator, author, editor, and parent, I would love to connect with other parents who see the need for imparting solid literacy skills to their pre-school, kindergarten, early readers, emerging readers, and reluctant readers. From social emotional learning (SEL) to building literacy skills to developing academic excellence, our members believe books are a gateway to understanding the world around us and ourselves. As the saying goes, "Readers are leaders!"

[close] This book club is specifically for the ECE 6587: Literacy & Language Development class at Georgia State University. We'll use this space to share ideas, ask questions, brainstorm, etc. about literacy issues and topics geared towards young learners and educators.

Goodreads offers a practical means to sustain enduring friendships while rendering altruistic service. Young children are priority one, which leads to support of local literacy improvement projects.
