[close] Read and Reap Literacy Initiative is an education and literacy advocacy Non-Governmental Organization that aims to promote, stimulate, build, and advance the reading culture for intellectual development, self-sufficiency, and Community development. We also actively advocate for inclusive and equitable quality education aligning with goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We aim to reawaken the art of reading and writing and encourage career mentoring while serving as a networking knowledge base. Education is not a scam. [close] This book forum is for parents who are raising children to love themselves and others. We feature support for parents raising African American and Black children, which includes parents of biracial children and adoptive parents of any ethnicity. There will be book recommendations to support parents and their children. As an educator, author, editor, and parent, I would love to connect with other parents who see the need for imparting solid literacy skills to their pre-school, kindergarten, early readers, emerging readers, and reluctant readers. From social emotional learning (SEL) to building literacy skills to developing academic excellence, our members believe books are a gateway to understanding the world around us and ourselves. As the saying goes, "Readers are leaders!"
