[close] I am currently in a book club with 5 of my girlfriends, Kristin, Pam, Dena, Marge and Cassie, and we all live in Belcamp, MD. Our book club began physically meeting a year ago in December. So many people have inquired about joining our book club. Unfortunately, we aren't allowing any more members to join. It's difficult enough to talk about our book club pick of the month with 6, wine drinking women. If we added anyone else, It would just get too hectic. SO, I am going to start this book club on goodreads. This way anyone can join. I will list the book club picks monthly. In this case, the more the merrier. The most recent book club pick will be the Profile pic. I will also add other books our club has read in the last year.

[close] The United Alternative Interest Society is for those who live near the Cumberland, MD area (or not, I'm not too picky) with "alternative" interests and hobbies. This includes hobbies such as board gaming, RPGs, anime, and comic books, as well as more typical interests as movies, food, history, hiking, and reading. The real purpose of the group is to bring together like-minded folks to get to know one another and share our hobbies. This organization is intended to be safe and accepting of all people, regardless of race, gender, or whatever else. I myself am looking for fellow ladies to geek out with, so I would also strongly encourage women to join! This GoodReads group in particular is intended to be used for the UAIS Book Club, which will ideally be guided by said club members to choose suitably geeky books or comics, read them, and talk them over.
