[close] Rude is an online magazine which aims to create a space for conversation about sex and sensuality, art, creativity, culture and feminism. We publish a mix of material from comment pieces on sex and censorship to reviews of award-winning one-woman theatre shows like Broken Promise Land, book and art reviews, and thought-provoking features on the future of contraception, and the effects of feminism on male/female relations. We also want to champion women in art and small businesses that share our philosophy such as Leena McCall who explores the erotic from a female perspective through her paintings, one of which caused a stir when it was banned from the Mall Galleries earlier this year. We also work with innovative start-ups like Helen Russ’ Hell in Leather brand, which makes devilishly good erotic leather wear. Current projects are: The Sex Diaries, a series of submissions about sex and private lives, anonymous or named, for inclusion in the next Natsal (2024), the UK’s National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles. Rude Press The Book of Rude Conversations will feature a series of interviews with adult industry workers – pro-dommes, fetish models, phone sex workers, escorts, porn performers, Burlesque performers, sex surrogacy and sexuality workers – Tantric & BDSM – to challenge myths and prejudices around sex work and the adult industry as exploitative and explore why people may choose to do it. [close] A home for lovers of literature, of all kind, to come together and discuss a variety of books. This bookclub will discuss a mixture of fiction and non-fiction, and a mixture of genres.
