[close] This is a real life Chicago-based group created around the canon of the UK based Persephone publishing company. Why read books specifically from one publishing company, you ask? Because they focus on forgotten 20th century female authors and the books are amazing if you are a fan of history, literature, women's studies and/or all things British. The best part is that themes, plots, and even genre vary with each book so there's a little something for everyone. So far we've read an overview of women's history, a noir thriller, a horror novella, a couple humorous novels and a couple serious ones.
