[close] Discussion of strategically selected books by Greater Diversity News that address issues and provide solutions to underserved communities in the United States. Selected books are selected in part for clarity of issues produced by racism in their historical context. Parents, guardians and their youth are encouraged to participate together and discuss afterward in their homes.

[close] Hello everyone! This is a group dedicated to people who want to see a more peaceful world and who enjoy learning about other cultures with respect and gratitude. Feel free to join this group if you believe in peace and harmony. The goal of this group is to understand about the dangers of prejudice and racism around the world and hatred can come in many different forms. Anyone who believes that prejudice against homosexuality, different cultures, different races, people with disabilities, or anyone who are different from society is wrong, are free to join this club to discuss about how we can prevent racism and prejudice from spreading across the world.

[close] Each month a theme will be set with a suggested book for each age group (adult, young adult, 8-12 years, young children). You do not have to stick to your age group, it's just to provide a little something for everyone. Some months adult themes may be included, there will be a warning given prior if this is the case. If you add a book to the tbr please let a moderator know the key themes, genres and age range that it falls under.

[close] Group for discussion about Secular Humanism. Generally for those who either are Secular Humanists, or those who want to know about it. Support for info & books about Secular Humanism. Not for religious people to slam or otherwise put down. Non-religious (secular) morals & ethics derive from conscience and observation of the world in terms of reality ("let your conscience be your guide"). Ethics are preferred to synthesized morals and are practical, and work realistically. Science confirms reality and the real world around us and helps better explain and define it. "Secular" denotes "without and free of religion" as the U.S. government is supposed to be (see Separation Of Church And State). "Humanist" denotes being human, a member of humanity, and support of and by fellow human beings; i.e. social cooperation of and by equals. Also, being free of bias, prejudice and racism; but being a rational, reasoning, and objective person.
