Queer Literature

[close] Welcome to Sisters in Books, a friendly Prague-based community for all bookworms who love reading and discussing books! This group aims to build friendship, support, and empowerment for women (non-cis + non-binary friends welcome) who wish to share their love for good literature. Join our circle as we explore acclaimed literature and share our thoughts and insights with one another through monthly book discussions and meetups. In this group, we read various genres - fiction and nonfiction, fantasy, contemporary, or historical - with a focus on popular reads (BookTube & Goodreads favorites), especially books that promote women's and queer voices and stories. This group runs on mutual respect and encouragement, and we support women’s rights, queer, trans, and POC rights. Thank you for being a part of the community. PS: We are all about friendship and building a community, not about networking, business, or sales. #nospam

Use this group to find free beta readers for your unpublished LGBTQ+ book babies. If you're able to return the favor, please do! :) This is not a group for approaching authors with paid services.

[close] a "safe" space for girls and gays who (used to) listen to a podcast of a certain choice and unfortunately also have opinions about books. the vibe: ♡ wwssd; what would Susan Sontag do? ♡ literary girlies with commitment issues ♡ gays with a concerning knowledge of 19th-century russian literature ♡ pretending our tbr is aspirational rather than a sign of being manic ♡ overanalyzing fictional women ♡ reading books so you can develop a new personality for 2–3 business weeks ♡ we love niche recommendations we here at the g+gs lit club recognize the following: ♡ there is merit to separating the art from the artist, but like, bad actions can overshadow the merits of their contributions ♡ YA is for children ♡ booktok vibes are atrocious ♡ we try not to be too corny w/ "alt-girl" slop ♡ Fitzcarraldo does have pretty book covers (it's International Klein Blue) anyway, welcome. read something. have an opinion. make it everyone’s problem. 💌
