It can often be difficult to judge if something that has LGBTQ+ characters in it is actually an accurate representation of queer people. Whether it's a misunderstanding, anti-queer bias, or (god forbid) fetishization, a lot of media about queer people is overly sexualized, stereotyped, and/or generally offensive. Not to mention a lot of queer media erases bi, trans, genderqueer, and aromantic or asexual people, sometimes even mocking them. This prompted me to make Queerspace, a group for sharing wholesome queer media (whether it be books, movies, TV shows, etc.) as well as supporting LGBTQ+ people in general.
