Recovery

[close] I have been searching for a sobriety-themed book club for a while now, with very limited success. So, I have decided to create one myself! My vision is to bring together a community of people in recovery, as well as family, friends, and allies of those in recovery, to read and discuss traditional "Quit Lit" and possibly other books that pertain to the theme of addiction and recovery. This group is not affiliated with any particular recovery program. We will meet every other week via Zoom (date/time TBD, based on members' availability).

[close] This group is geared towards readers of alcoholism, addiction, and recovery books. Fiction, non-fiction, biography, memoir, etc.

[close] Features my book, Deliver Us From Evil, about sexual abuse by clergy. The group members can include anyone who has been sexually abused or know someone who was sexually abused. We can talk about sexual abuse and what we can do to help diminish this social problem.

[close] This groups is inclusive to all addicts, but especially so with opiate and heroin users who injected drugs. The support group revolves around my story and how I overcame a nasty addiction to heroin, and wrote my story "Addictarium," about my time in intensive rehabilitation in a 2 year program.
