[close] The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be the ninth Rugby World Cup, and is to be held in Japan from 20 September to 2 November. This will be the first time the tournament is to be held in Asia, the first time consecutive tournaments have been staged in the same hemisphere, and also the first time that the event will take place outside the traditional heartland of the sport. 2019 rwc japan live The 2019 Rugby World Cup plays host to the most eagerly-anticipated rugby match every four years, with 80 minutes separating two teams from global domination. Twenty teams start off with the goal of becoming world champions, but the path to the final is no easy one. The opening match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup kicks off on Friday, September 20 as nations from all across the globe compete for the William Webb Ellis Trophy in Japan.
