[close] The South African Secular Society is a group of non-believers, secularists, humanists, naturalists and other irreligious people who strive to forward the cause of secularism in South Africa and provide a network for those interested in community without religion.

But above all, we are ethical, moral, and delightful beings. Skeptical of dogma, promoters of science, reason, and freethought. Public truths through public revelation, spirituality through life, friendship, and the arts. Morality through education, compassion, tolerance, and justice. Cooperation with all those seeking to make a more sustainable, delightful, just, and humane world. [close] This a group for the discussion and planning of our local book club. Books will be announced two months in advance to give people time to attain and read the book. We will then meet at a local venue to discuss and share thoughts. We will likely read on a variety of subjects over time, spanning from science, activism, civil law and rights, secularism, and many more.
