[close] The use and definition of the word "noise" is highly contested. The law defines noise as something very specific through the use of community ordinances. People use the word noise to define sounds of all types and sources. Noise tends to have a negative connotation but this interpretation, and not necessarily by definition. The word doesn't even simply apply to audio. People speak of visual noise to define a sense of overwhelming materials that create a space where focus is difficult as well as noise as the unwanted part of communication (meaning that its 'other' is signal). This group is a collection of books about ideas surrounding noise in it's many uses, definitions and interpretations.

[close] Each month a theme will be set with a suggested book for each age group (adult, young adult, 8-12 years, young children). You do not have to stick to your age group, it's just to provide a little something for everyone. Some months adult themes may be included, there will be a warning given prior if this is the case. If you add a book to the tbr please let a moderator know the key themes, genres and age range that it falls under.
