Survivalist
The theme Survivalism was especially influenced by the advent of nuclear weapons and the potential for societal collapse during the Cold War. It is commonly seen following disasters such as shipwrecks, plane crashes, and being lost at sea (see: Maritime). Dystopian Fiction often features war-related or games survival (i.e. The Hunger Games).
A popular sub-genre of Survivalism is Robinsonade.
