[close] Hi, We are two mental health therapists who wanted to start a book club so that we can have a space and place to help people work through the themes we see in the therapy office. Although it is not free therapy, it is close. We chose Sovereign Love as our first read because it is easily one of the best relationship books we've read (ever), and is applicable whether you are in relationship or not. All relationships begin and end with your relationship to yourself and this book is a beautiful invitation for remembering and reclaiming capital S Self and digging into masculine and feminine energy (anima and animus) in a way that really lands — made even more impactful and more fun in the container of community. This group is for those who are curious about the stories they’ve been living in relationship of all kinds, and are ready to understand how masculine and feminine energetics have shaped their relationship polarity and their experience of Self. It’s for people who sense that intimacy is not about losing yourself in another, but about learning to stand firmly in who you are while staying open to connection. We will move from longing and projection into self-trust and responsibility, to see that the quality of our relationships begins with the relationship we have with ourselves.

[close] The members of Therapist Book Club works together to make the club happen: members recommend books, members vote on what they want to read and members host local chapter meetings and discussions all while engaging in the national conversation. Through monthly book selection and discussions we aim to better ourselves as service providers while learning new techniques and interventions, networking, socializing and learning from our peers.
