[close] THIS Literary Magazine was founded in 2009. We publish new and emerging writers with diverse backgrounds and fresh perspectives. We publish fiction, essays, creative non-fiction, poetry, graphic fiction, comics, and reviews. In addition, we also publish visual media that includes photos, artwork, and video. At present, we do not publish sci-fiction or fantasy pieces but will accept reviews of books in those genres. We don’t mean to be jerks; we just feel our staff expertise falls short in the area of genre fiction. If you’d like to submit, please read our submission guidelines. We publish primarily in English but will consider works in other languages as long as a reliable translation is provide alongside the work. If you are interested in submitting a piece in a language other than English, e-mail us at thiszine at gmail dot com for the specific guidelines.

[close] A discussion group for the zine we are creating about books. We're happy for people to volunteer. We're calling for people to take photos of books, or write reviews etc. We're also looking for artists as well as writers who are self-published, published, fanfiction writers etc.

[close] Opening Line is an online literary magazine designed to promote unpublished writers and illustrators, and authors who are just about to embark on their first public release. We welcome all genres and formats. Whether you pen poetry or short stories, or prefer to send us an illustration or a novel excerpt, Opening Line has a place for you. Submissions to Opening Line are free: we do not and will never ask for contributions from writers. The Opening Line magazine (download available in pdf. format) is published monthly and will have a new, publicised theme for each issue. Submissions are also accepted for the website, which is updated every week. Before sending anything to us, please read our Submission and Copyright Guidelines (found on our website).
