Argh I agree! The ghost writer ruined the books completely, and I hated the way L.J Smith was treat. Sadly it can be used as an example for other authors whose books get picked up for tv shows.Although I shall forever be grateful for Damon Salvatore ;)
Lol I can see me being the same... 'wow Lisa I really enjoyed your book!' 'really? why? Did someone pay you to say so?'
Thank you, so much! I really do appreciate people taking time to answer. It's a whole new world, to take the step from just wanting to write a book, to doing it!
Me and my husband were a bit late to Game of Thrones, and watched all 3 series last year, and are now impatiently waiting for the next one!Although I do have to admit, I haven't read any of the books :o
Ok, so at almost 30 years, I think I have to admit that I am probably too old to be a PLL fan, but I love the tv show. I have read most of the books, I think I have 2 to catch up on
My latest book is a hardback...and as much as I love the smell of a new book, boy does it make me miss my Kindle now! I forgot how heavy a hardback book can be - and how awkward they are to lay in bed with to read!

Just a shame its not a gift guaranteed to make me smile!! Lol. Time to grow that thick skin, I think
Thank you both! Its nice to know I'm not just an oddball!I think a lot of my problem with this one is that I never intended to print it, I just thought I would take up one of the NaNo 'prizes'.
Maybe I just need to take a deep breath and just hand the proof over to someone and ask them to read it and get it over with!
I have just received my proof copy through of my first ever completed book! It is my NaNo novel, and honestly, when I started it, I never thought I would finish, and yesterday I was holding a copy in my hand - quite a bizarre and overwhelming experience! Anyway, as any proud person would do, I posted a photo of it online, and now I have friends and family asking for copies to read. Which I can do, after I have checked over the proof, (part of the NaNo prizes were to receive 2 free copies, plus I can order more if I want to).
The problem is, I now feel terrified and sick to the stomach at the thought of someone reading it! I don't know if it is because I don't want someone to read it and tell me its the biggest pile of rubbish ever and to give up now lol, or a fear of being judged etc, I don't know, but its a rubbish, nerve wracking feeling and I don't know a) if it is normal! and b) how to get past it.
Someone please tell me I am not strange... :/

Hi Satinder, welcome to the group!
I'm mid episode right now lol. I think Karl was in it but briefly, or just mentioned, I can't quite recall for sure, I don't think it's the role they have given him in this though. there have been a couple of tiny little details I have picked up on that I have gone oooh not in the book lol. this is where I have problems remembering the 'based on' part
I am now reading a copy of Barbara Taylor Bradfords newest book Cavendon Hall, which will be out next week. I'm loving it, and hoping to get it finished this week so I can put my review out on the same day as my interview with Barbara goes out on the blog next week
Oh :( just as I'm starting to really love it, along comes Karl Marsden....who is so, so, so wrong! Not liking him at all :(
I agree Arielle, if I enjoy a book, I don't notice. There have been books I have given 5 star ratings too, because I enjoyed them so much, then I have had a nosey at other reviews and seen people slating them for being badly written
