10246 It is nice to see the membership growing!
As for now the updates are these:
I have realized that most of us who are self published do get a bit of the bad deal when it comes to big business. The % in royalties from the big guys like Amazon versus the % in royalties if people by direct from our publishers.
Since my web-site sits on a server that gave me pretty much an unlimited traffic deal, I am about to work on a link page.
This should be ready within a week or so;
The idea is this that the page becomes it's own domain and will act as a "book-search-engine". Authors can list their books there and have people go from their to either the author's personal pages or direct to the author's publisher to add the book to their shopping cart.
The more authors participate, the better it is for search engines like Google and so to find our Link-page when a title or author is searched.
I will update you all on the progress of this as soon as my webmaster becomes active again. (He is presently side tracked with some serious family issues)

About the book (1 new)
Nov 13, 2008 10:31PM

10246 Hi.
My book – “Tiny Eden”, the 3rd edition is now out since end of October. It is also now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. However I rather sell it direct on http://tinyeden.org
Those who have read my other posts in the various groups will know that I began writing originally as early as 14. – (This was a dare from my German Lit. Teacher & one shall never “dare” a Teen)
For reasons unknown, even back in my early childhood I always thought that something was wrong with the world and still is. As I grew older I naturally realized that many things “Are” because of past events that shaped things to what we have now. This then resulted in this desire to examine the issue of – “What if there would be a civilization that had not been exposed to all the S*** of historical events?” This main thread began to take shape more and more over the years.
If I say that the 3rd edition is now in print it means the 3rd of actually published, but the many ½-ways canceled (handwritten) editions would be in the 50-some try and discard ones.
“Tiny Eden” is a “series of a total of 8 books. (2 are in editing stages; the other 5 are in various stages of writing) All 8 deal with the same event but as viewed and experienced from 8 different people.
It is hard to pinpoint the actual genre of the books other than “fiction”. “Tiny Eden” deals with all topics! Politics, society, economy, war & piece, trauma and sexual abuse, religion and so forth.
The website is a work in progress. We have even a forum on it in which members can add comments or discuss topics on all issues. However the main information is on the website, as well the link to buy direct from the publisher, - Authorhouse.

10246 Joylene and Martha and I have now exchanged links on our respective homepages. Especially with Martha I did discuss it as a possible promotional issue. People visiting one author's page might after all not be interested in the genre of that person's writings but find more to one's liking on another author's link. So this is just an "idea" to expand exposure.

10246 I seem for the moment not to have much time to write. The website takes a lot of work. Additionally I am trying to increase my links. Just because of the quite touchy topic of my book, I need to research every possible link with much more care than otherwise.
But for sure by next week all is back to normal....

10246 Tiny Eden is mostly directed against our civilized world & especially against Capitalism. It promotes a return to being True & Natural.
The difference between natural versus civilized societies is the acceptance of Aggression.
When we talk about Natural then I do not mean that one is a savage club-wielding brute. This image of our ancestors past is misplaced. Anyone who is in tune with nature is aware how ferocious a mother-animal can become in defense of her young. This is not aggression but defense! Natural man going on a hunt to provide for his tribe is not an aggressor, man going to war is one.
Civilization changed the role of man in the sense that we changed from a tribal democracy into a from the top down rule.
Tiny Eden does show however that a tribal structure & natural living does not mean one has to remain bound to clubs & spears. Inventions & progress are not a matter of civilization alone.
Civilization as we know it began about 10,000 years ago with the adaptation to agriculture but mostly to the adaptation of domesticating animals. A very profound event changes our way of thinking. As we began to domesticate animals, keep them in pens or tied to ropes, we realized quite quickly that we could alter their behavior simply by the way how we manipulated them. A quite fierce bull could with a simple castration be turned into a very docile draft animal! Beating and other brutal force behavior would shape the animal into specific behavior patterns, easily manageable by the usually much weaker human. So with ill-conceived logic we then figured that if one can shape an animals behavior this way, could one not also shape a human this way?
It is often said that the most dangerous drug is power!
What civilization however did was the introduction off property! Tribal cultures do not as such have a sense for property. Most is communal short of personal possessions in the terms of tools and clothing. Agriculture and domestication of livestock did change however in the sense that we now needed to know who owned what and was responsible for what field, well beings of animals and the likes. This sense of ownership was then also expanded to the “Wife”. Since ownership also meant the passing on of property to one’s offspring’s, the knowledge of who is the father/mother of a child became vital. So came into being the various virginity cults, the marriage rituals and the regulations of our sexual conducts – in “clean-speak” Morality.
To defend the wealth civilization now brought for a community meant also to manage resources better and the need for expansion – (War) – to gain access to resources not present on local grounds. So defense turned into aggression. With aggression the need for actual “soldiers” became evident and we had the beginning of what we call today the “Military Industrial Complex”.
With aggression we needed to teach our fellow men how to not just kill an antelope, but how to kill other fellow men. So the skills of hunting were now re-modified into the skills of war! Who else was better suited for this occupation than the short-tempered male part of our species. And how does one become a Male? Well one has to begin with a Boy. So today we do it with teaching aggression, - (now called competition) – with sport education, training in “team work”, - (speak: training them to function as future soldiers) – and similar.
These are the issues that "Tiny Eden" touches on!
The Boy-characters in "Tiny Eden" are by no means “Sissies”. They know when to stand up and fight, stand up for the right thing and not back down when under pressure. However what those boys do not do is to being aggressive for no reason. In "Tiny Eden" the boys are defenders and not aggressors. This is the real thread of the book.

10246 The establishment has come to love terms and slogans that become household names of condemnation. As one is labeled a "Communist" by simply disagreeing with some parts of Capitalism. or one is called a "Liberal" when one is not for a "hang them all" approach to problems. One of the newest slogans and catch all terms for Male child-sex predator is the term "Boy-Love".
Let me explain a few things that happened with the 1st 2 editions of "Tiny Eden"
"Tiny Eden" was on retail sale at T.G.B., one of our strongest supporters. I often spent the weekend there and quite often sold this book to "Women", - "Mothers" to be more precise. Mothers who had young sons, - boys in that matter and who should be worried about male Child-sex predators lurking behind every bush.
I asked them about their perception of "Tiny Eden", the story and the content. They "LOVED" it!
Mothers are renown for their 6th sense to sniff out any danger for their children. And yet they found this book "good" and with a supportive message and theme.
It was for me the proof that I had touched a subject we do not want to talk about and yet that is just a mm under below the surface. - The Mentor.
Throughout history, mentor-ship has been the basis of education. What is in today's society a "Teacher's Pet"? A student that is more attentive, more eager to learn and more active in participation.
The Chinese say: "A village rears a child." And this is the fact for us Humans. The parents raise the child in the sense that they are responsible for the immediate needs of the new-born up to preschool age. However at around preschool age, the parents no longer can cope with all the needs of their child. Not the needs in terms of food shelter and clothing, but in the sense that his/her little brain needs a bit more stimulus than what the parents can offer.
Education in the ancient times till recently was mostly a One-on-One Mentor-ship affair. It is still to a degree practiced in the apprenticeship programs for trade training and the likes. Mentor-ship is as old and part and parcel of our very human nature. It is modern society, especially the industrial and capitalistic consumer goods society that removes more and more the very fundamentals of human nature and shapes us into mindless sheep that can be herded into all directions.
It is also human nature that we do stick with our own gender. This is why the "Boys" go out and bowl and or go to watch a football game together. They do it as males together with males, not as husband and wife groups. This is why women have their coffee gatherings and other same gender group activities. Even if we are married and have our families, we have our "Boys & Girls" nights out. It is much more so natural for a boy to feel more comfortable with a male friend and mentor than with a female one as in the same token a girl feels a lot more comfortable with a female friend and mentor.
The present day child sex abuse phobia has one goal only. To frighten people into isolation. To instill a "trust no one" sensation in one's mind and to offer only one help and solution, this of the authority. However the "boy" dreams and these dreams have to be nourished and mentored to make a free person out of him. Foremost however a "gentle person" out of this male child. Gentle in the sense that he in his character contributes to the decline of the masses of wife beaters and the masses of willing recruits for terrorism and other violent activities.
In every dictator, criminal, terrorist, wife beater and so forth, was once a "boy" who had his dreams shattered.
To recognize these dreams, to nourish them and encourage success and achievement, this is BOY-LOVE.

10246 Thank you Peter.
As you know from me, I have a always disliked the narrow descriptions of human interactions & existence. After all life is not ruled by finite laws as disciplines as engineering are.
I believe the most dangerous trap we as humans can fall into is to define ourselves with attributes ending in "...ISM".
