I have the exact same problem except we haven't found a place yet. I'll be much further away, but I don't care. I need to be there! I'm glad you're going to!
The best way to find books you want to read that people are lending, is to go to the book you're interested in, then on the right hand side under "genres" (right under "reader's also enjoyed) click on "See Top Shelves." On that page, just do a search for "lend" and you can find shelves for people who have that book to lend. You can also use one of those links to just search that shelf of theirs to see what else they have to lend instead. Here are my shelves:
Kindle
Nook
So I got that it's Saturday the fourteenth, but what time? Maybe for once I'll be able to make it. Maybe. :)
It works for me and it's in my calendar now. Barring a bad migraine or a crisis with one of my kids, I'll be there.

Yes. That's what I get paid to do: take teenagers so that no one else has to. :) I'm really excited because the next one coming to me is questioning his sexuality. I know that I can support him in figuring it out, no matter what he decides or how long it takes. It's such a refreshing change from the teenage girls I usually have who are SO melodramatic.

How exciting! I'll let my friends know and I plan to be there. I assume the readings will not involve explicit sex since it's in a book store. I'm hoping to bring my new foster kid who's questioning his sexuality.

Inertia's on my read-soon list. I'm glad I'm going to get to meet the author!

I'm trying to read at least one work by each author attending. There's so much good stuff to choose from, it's hard.
You sound like me!! I can stay up 24 hours easily, although I usually sleep 10 afterward. And I read fast. I just have to get a hold of the books first. :) I'm still impressed.
Teela, how did you do all of that in three days? I'm so impressed! First role, rolled a three. Space three: Choose a book from your to-read shelf that’s by an author attending GRNW. Read Spirit Sanguine. It was sooooo good! LOVED it!
Second roll, rolled a five. Space 8: You just got a free espresso shot from that hot barista! Move ahead to space 16. Space 16: Say WA! Read any book by a WA state author. Read Delsyn's Blues, also really fantastic.
Third roll, rolled a three. Space 19: Read any book by a GRNW author whose first or last name starts with “S.” Picture Me Perfect. Enjoyable. I love how Troy treats Nicky.
Fourth roll, rolled a six. Space 25: Read any book by a GRNW author whose first or last name starts with a “K”, “B”, or “M.” Forever in One Second. Liked it a lot. Desperately wish there were a sequel.
Fifth roll, rolled a five. Space 30: Clockwork Werebears! Read a book from Steampunk, Fantasy, or Shifters. Dance with the Devil. I was confused at first but ended up loving it.
Sixth roll, rolled a five. Space 35: Anthologies, Shorts, or Free Reads. On The Dock. Damn story made me cry.
Seventh roll, rolled a two. On the nose! Space 37: You’re done! (Feel free to play again for MORE GLORY!) Will do! I’m still trying to read at least one thing by each author before the conference. But then I love something and have to read more of that series/author, and then I have all my other stuff to read…it’s going to be tough.
You don't have anything to apologize for, Andrea. One of the most popular stories right now, Let's Hear it for the Boy, is terrible sad and it's supposedly amazing. Your work is excellent, I'm just a complete wuss. It's a mark of your great talent that you can make people feel so strongly. The book I had trouble with was (view spoiler) That's good writing: you made me care so much I can't read further because my heart will break. I was seriously upset for days, the book affected me that much.
So I don't think you should ever apologize for your writing, no matter how sad a book is. You've got mad skillz. :)
I have Josh of the Damned on my short list. I'll have it read before the conference.
I will read the whole infected series at some point. I LOVED Prey. I just have to steel myself up first. :)

Did you know that Seattle has the second highest per capita number of gay people in the US? We're just ultra cool. :)
Hi, all,I'm Kelly and I'm an M/M Romance reader. ("Hi, Kelly.") It's been two hours since my last reading of M/M romance...
I discovered this genre about nine months ago. Before that, I got really excited when I found a book with a gay character and even started a Listopia list trying to find more in urban fantasy. I made a GR friend who reviewed M/M books. I got ultra-excited and she pulled me into the M/M Romance group. I've been reading almost nothing else, since. (I really need to get out more.) But really, my first M/M novel, Cyteen, is also my favorite, although it's not a romance. I think the first I read was either Coyote's Creed or Among the Living, both of which I loved.
Somehow this genre released some of my self-doubts and insecurities. I've been writing my whole life but I never submitted any fiction to a real publisher until this year. I have my first story being published by Dreamspinner in August!!! I feel like I won the lottery, or like I'm part of some really special secret society or something. I still keep expecting them to say, "Oops, we got the wrong story." I also have a novella/novel coming out with LHNB.
Anyway, since I'm a fledgling, I'm still incredibly fan-ish and I get all giggly when I think about meeting you authors in person! I promise to hold it together, though, and not embarrass anyone, hopefully not even myself. ;)
