OK, thanks, Feliks. I appreciate the info, and your candor on the subject. I totally understand.

1036 Hi Feliks! You mentioned in a post that if an author has a new book release, we should send you info about it.

My humorous new novel, DON HULA, ISLAND SPY, will be released this Wednesday, the 17th, on Amazon. Below are the items you requested so that the novel can be placed in the "new titles directory." If you need additional info, or want me to send this info to you another way, please let me know.

"Don Hula, Island Spy" Goodreads page location:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Book/Author Blurb:
It’s 1959. Burned-out spy Don Hula just wants to fade into his tropical island hideaway and forget the world. But when bizarre phenomena begin shaking up a remote chain of South Pacific islands, Hula’s forced back into the game for the weirdest, most dangerous mission of his career, facing South Seas assassins, criminal monkeys, diabolical ukuleles, and temperamental Tikis who keep hinting that the world’s about to end . . . probably around Thursday. It’s all more than a poor ex-agent can possibly handle in “DON HULA, ISLAND SPY.” This humorous spy novel also includes dozens of illustrations, plus tropical cocktail recipes and other fun features.

Book Pitch (if this is too long, let me know):
A humorous mash-up of vintage spy tales and Tiki bar fun about a weary spy, Don Hula, in 1959 who’s hiding out in a quirky group of tropical islands where there’s temperamental Tikis, South Sea Assassins, and a world-shaking plot in the works. The novel includes dozens of illustrations.

Thanks, Feliks!

All the best,
Mike

As for me, I’m recipient of the Best Book Award at the Indie Book Awards, and I’m a Gold Award Winner for the Lowell Thomas Travel Book of the Year (writing about such things as dancing with geishas and working with jungle elephants). I also wrote and produced a popular series of comedy audiodramas that aired on radio stations in the US and Canada.

Have a great week!

It's fine to post [almost] anything related to espionage in this group.

1036 Hi! My name’s Mike. I live in California.

I’m very new to Goodreads and reading groups. I have a question, and I don't know where to post it.

I have a book release and a Goodreads Giveaway coming up. Mine is a spy novel, but it’s a goofy comedy/satire with a touch of fantasy to it (for an older demographic). So, I wasn’t sure if my novel belongs here if I promote it. Is this group really only for serious spy stories?

To give you an idea what my novel's like, it's called “Don Hula, Island Spy” and this is its Goodreads listing (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...). I thought I should ask if it will fit in here before posting anything to the Author Promos area. I apologize if I'm doing this all wrong.

Thanks for your help!
