The Adler Compound (Second Edition) Beta Readers Wanted – Military / Political Thriller (80k words)

Hi, Andy. Sorry for the late response.Since it is a volunteer organization, it may take 4 weeks or so; however, you did mention it's flexible. We'll have around 2 beta readers working on it; they are versatile in any genre and have read thrillers before. It'll most likely be a summary report on every few chapters, but also probably include in-manuscript comments as well (EX: highlights, quotations). Of course, it depends on what you want.

Our beta readers are meant to give an opinion on the plot, pacing, characters, themes, etc, while gauging reader engagement (giving feedback on what parts of the story were boring, exciting, etc). They try to simulate what an actual reader would feel after reading the published version.

Hi! I'm a part of Wishbone Literary, a nonprofit organization aimed at providing free editing services as a passion project. We're looking for story submissions for our team of volunteers to edit. Currently, our social handle is @thewishboneliterary on Instagram :]If you're interested in proofreaders or beta readers, then we can definitely help out :)
FOR AUTHORSI'm not sure if this falls under the advertising section (sorry if so, moderators), but I'm starting a nonprofit startup program for authors AND volunteer editors. Wishbone Literary is still very much in the early phases, however, we are offering FREE editing services to any young authors because passion ≠ financial burden. I remember when I self-published with a lack of resources and any editing support, so here's my way of giving back. Currently, our submissions are closed, but in Jan 2026, you can openly submit your story to Wishbone for feedback.
FOR VOLUNTEERS/EDITORS/BETA READERS
We're currently looking for volunteers! There's a variety of volunteer roles we need filled (EX: Beta Reader, Basic Editor, Sensitivity Reader, etc). If you're interested, list your name and email at "wishboneliteraryorg@gmail.com". We'll notify you when application forms are open.
Again, sorry if I'm not allowed to do this to any moderators 😅! This seems like a lovely group of people, so I figured getting the word of mouth would be best here.
Seeing how a lot of people here are getting the similar emails, regardless if they are an author or not, I'm starting to suspect they target people in Goodread groups like this one since they're typically full of new authors who are desperate to be seen in the book market. It's a sad reality that people feel the need to take advantage of those who are trying to make it big in the book world though :/
I was wondering if anyone else have been getting a lot of emails from people wanting to "endorse" or "connect with other authors"? Usually one is fine, but I've getting multiple within the past few days. They're typically just a paragraph or so, but don’t elaborate what company they're apart of etc.
Hello, I'm looking for beta readers for my poetry collected called Imposter Syndrome! Warning: It's incomplete with some chapters only having a few words or none at all, but there's also fully fleshed-out chapters. For more context, you can ask which chapters to read! How it works is that you can comment you're interested and send your email through here so I can add you to the Google Doc! To give advice or feedback, you can use the comments or "suggestion mode" which i prefer. I appreciate honesty and maturity!
Also since it's my first time, I'm unsure if manuscripts have to be fully written in order for a beta reader to give feedback. Please bear with me with the unfinished chapters, I'm going through a writing slump.
SUMMARY: overall, should be less than 10k words since it's not finished yet. there's also heavy topics that may be triggering, so please ask if you're concerned. happy reading!
Hi, Malena! I'm looking for an ARC reader for my mystery/thriller novel, The Originals, and I need a review by July 20th or earlier (hope that's enough time!) P. S. I already sent an email with a link to the pdf and below is the desc and link to the book's Goodreads:DESC:
Fans of Get Even and Pretty Little Liars will devour The Originals, a dark academia novel that shows the wilder and darker side of secrets and the past.
Orchid Gray writes exposés on the bad students of Silverleaf Academy alongside Stoll Finnegan and Saira Levine, known as the Originals. From the outside, she's just mousy and quiet Orchid Gray. On the inside, she's @shadesofgray.
They work together with their "insurance treaty"---they have to share a deadly secret with each other to make sure one doesn't go off running their mouth. When Orchid's beloved teacher, Professor Green, is found dead and labelled as a suicide, she doesn't believe this ruse. Furthermore, dark things are happening at the school's gothic literature club that can not be a coincidence; Professor Green's death was seemingly inspired by a work of gothic literature. When murders pile on with the club being connected back, with the Originals' own secrets at risk, can they solve the trail of mysteries at Silverleaf Academy?
