1041181 1. An impacting passage from "Rewire Your Mind" is "Failure, and the pain that follows, is a natural part of being human. Everyone you look up to has failed during their lifetime. Everyone makes mistakes." My book focuses on self-acceptance and being aware that not being in control occasionally is okay. Steven assumes that his audience are over thinkers and he breaks down in each chapter how to stop overthinking and live life to the fullest.

2. "Rewire Your Mind" solely focuses on being self aware that mistakes are okay. Readers who overthink often and don't know how to handle/stop it can be provided with self management and self awareness tips and tricks. Furthermore, we are given examples of relationship management with examples of how to talk to others and do it in a non-over thinker way- where you are able to manage your mind instead of letting it manage you. Self motivation is demonstrated with examples of what to say to yourself when you want to improve and avoid irrelevant and negative thoughts. Lastly, social awareness is demonstrated because Steven writes things like "People sometimes like things to be complicated." Steven is aware of the type of people who are reading his book and he tries to cater to them.

3. Over thinkers, People who worry a lot, and people with negative mindsets should read this book. People who want to have a peaceful mind that they control should also read this. "Rewire Your Mind" revolves around avoiding overthinking and negative thoughts, mental clutter, and worrying about the future. Hence the title, Steven wants to give his audience a more positive way of thinking that will benefit them.

4. Three important lessons I've learned from "Rewire Your Mind" are 1. overthinking can take a toll on me and the people around me, 2. mental clutter only makes things worse, and 3. social media can increase worrying and a clutter mind. Avoiding overthinking and having self motivated thoughts can improve stress levels and relationships with others. Mental clutter can be caused by social media and stress (everything is related).

1041181 Norah wrote “ c. Something challenging in this book was the concept that I as told how to live, and that my choices are influenced by others. I like to think that I make my own decisions, but this book states that we follow a belief system that we never choose to believe.”

In my book, the author also includes the idea that we don’t necessarily make our own decisions: it is our brain and instincts that do the controlling.

1041181 Davani wrote: “ A. I like my book so far, she speaks a lot of encouraging words. She talks about personal experiences with her self esteem and how people use the word "pretty" to categorize others. She also talks about the expectations people have for women to live with 'good girl syndrome'.”
My book also is encouraging to the reader and really puts you in a positive mindset. My author included some of his personal experiences too.

1041181 a. The book so far is going well. I feel interested enough to where I won't feel forced to read and annotate. I like it because the book is uplifting and gives me a positive mindset.

b. A passage that was impacting is "The higher the stakes you set for yourself, the greater pressure you'll feel to live up to them." This is because I can relate to this and understand that I'm not alone with thinking like this. The high standards fuel negative thoughts when we don't end up reaching our goals.

c. Something I find challenging as I read this book is using deeper thinking to decode what the author means. I don't often think too deeply into what I read, but annotating encourages me to deepen my analysis on what I'm reading.

d. A passage as evidence for self awareness is "Sometimes simply knowing that what we think about is not wrong or abnormal can grant us peace of mind." If we are aware that the negative thoughts we have aren't unusual, it will make us not feel crazy or alone in how were feeling. Self awareness is key when handling negative thoughts.

1041181 I want to improve my thoughts so I can better myself mentally. I want to live in the present and avoid thinking into the future because doing so would cause stress. I want to avoid overthinking and mental clutter because I want to improve myself instead of causing stress and burdens.
