1041181 1. An impacting passage is, "Imagination is a source of fear, but may also be the cure of fear. 'Imagineering' is the use of mental images to build factual results, and it is an astonishingly effective procedure. Imagination is not simply the use of fancy. The word imagination derives from the idea of imaging. That is to say, you form an image either of fear or of release of fear." This means that we can use our imagination to get rid of fears and worries. It means that we don't have to use our imagination to make us more fearful and worried, but that we can use it to counter our fears and worries.
2. a. This book relates to self-awareness by showing us how to be self-confident, which can make you more self aware.
b. Self-management relates to this book by the author teaching us ways to soothe ourselves and stay positive.
c. This book relates to self-motivation by showing us things that we can say to ourselves to motivate ourselves to do something.
d. This book relates to social awareness by showing different situations in which the author or someone the author is speaking about in a story noticed that something was wrong with someone do to physical cues and was able to help that person and fix the problem.
e. This book relates to relationship management by showing different stories in which the author shows different things he did with people that can help show that the author cares for that person, helping to build his relationship with them. For example, in one story, the author asked if he could pray with a friend. This can show the friend how much he cares for them and make their relationship stronger.
3. People who are Christians and believe in God should read this book, because this book uses many verses from the Bible and is easier to relate to as a Christian.
4. a. In order to get the best and be successful, you have to believe that you can get the best.
b. You can have constant energy by having positive emotions and not rushing through things (slowing down your pace in life so that you are more relaxed).
c. We need to stop "fuming and fretting" (being angry and complaining all the time) so we don't waste energy and stay relaxed. This can be done by doing things that calm us down and make us happy.

I find that somewhat difficult, too. Sometimes, I find something that seems good, but has nothing to do with what we need to annotate. It can also be difficult to find something to highlight sometimes, and I end up feeling that I don't have enough on a page and get caught up with trying to find something.

I can relate with this because in society, we can see how easy it is for people to be negative. It doesn't take much effort to do that. However, being forgiving can be very difficult, especially if what the person who wronged you did hurt you a lot.

I definitely relate with this. My book uses words that I never even knew existed. Luckily, technology allows us to look up those words and know the definition easily.

That is only what it looks like at the outside of life. You're walking into an enormous house and admiring the nice furniture, not knowing that there are termites in the walls or that the whole foundation is shifting underneath you. I found this to be important because it illustrates many peoples life. "

I can relate with this because I have seen many people who seem kind and nice, but when I try to approach them and become friends, they end up being rude and snobby. It always hurts to find this out.

I agree with when you say that you find it hard to accept having those negative things. I myself find it hard to accept my weaknesses. For example, I once wasn't able to accept that I'm not an artist, so I tried to fight it and tried to get better and just couldn't. I later realized that I just didn't have the talent to be an artist, so now I accept it. I know being an artist is different from having bad communication skills, but it's similar, so that's why i relate.

1041181 a. I like the book a lot so far. This is because it relates to my religious beliefs and has given me a lot of advice on things like having more self-confidence.
b. A passage that was impacting was, "Feelings of confidence depend upon the type of thoughts that habitually occupy your mind. Think defeat and you are bound to feel defeated. But practice thinking confident thoughts, make it a dominating habit, and you will develop such a strong sense of capacity that regardless of what difficulties arise you will be able to overcome them." This was impactful because sometimes I feel defeated because I messed up or didn't succeed, and I start to doubt myself and lose self-confidence. However, after reading this passage, I now understand that I don't have to feel that way and that I can overcome my defeats. I will definitely use this when I feel down.
c. Something I find challenging in reading this book is trying to understand some of the words I don't know. The author uses words like "malady" and "serenity" and I don't have that high of a vocabulary, so I have to keep something I can use to look up the word with me in case I come to a word like that.
d. One passage that is evidence of one of the domains is, "Perhaps his associates view a proposition pessimistically, so he employs what he calls 'the vacuum-cleaner method.' That is, by a series of questions he 'sucks the dust' out of his associates' minds; he draws out their negative attitudes." This is evidence of social awareness in action. This man understands how his coworkers feel about something, so he tries to turn that around and make it positive. This means that this is proof of social awareness, since he is aware of his coworkers' feelings.

1041181 1. I want to learn to trust in myself more than I do now because I was told that I didn't trust myself enough.
2. I want to learn to stop worrying about things like school and to be more self-confident because I worry about a lot of things and that is causing me to waste my time.
3. I want to learn to relax easily and more efficiently because I don't relax very often and when I do relax, it takes up too much time and ends up being a time-waster.
