An impacting passage is, "ordinary unconsciousness is always linked in some way with denial of the Now. The Now, of course, also implies the here. Are you resisting your here and now. Some people would always rather be somewhere else. Their 'here' is never good enough." I find this impacting because it is true. People in society are always hoping on the future and never live in the present moment. This passage basically explains an example of what ordinary unconsciousness is. The text also talks about how complaining is just the nonacceptance of what is. It carries and unconscious negative charge. This book is mainly all about self awareness. It gives you the spiritual guide to becoming aware of the thing that go on inside you. The book gives you reasons as to why you think the way you do and how to fix it. Also, there is self management in this book as well. If you can not control your own thoughts and mind then you have no self management. Even more, the book says when you are unhappy it spreads more easily than a physical disease. That negativity will be fed into others which effects your relationship management. The book also says that if your conscious is low and you can't be present in an normal circumstance when you are listening to someone then you won't be conscious when something goes wrong. I say that to imply that if you can't even be present when someone is talking to you and listen then you have no social awareness. The type of person that should read this book should be someone who doesn't really understand why they are the way they are. What i mean by that is if someone is confused as to of why they overthink things or why they are always unhappy they should read this. If someone who is typically always unhappy within, this book will help give a guide to reach Being. Also, negative people should read this book because it explains what negativity really is. Three important lessons i have learned is that you should live in the moment and not dwell, problems are mind made, and that guilt, regret, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past.
Norah wrote:" I enjoy the book so far because new doors are opening that I never noticed before, such as the fact that we are controlled by fear"When you open new doors, does this make you feel nervous or scared or excited and happy? how does it make you feel?
My response- I agree with Nora and relate because my book has opened many doors for me to and showed me new things I’ve never noticed.

Davani wrote: "A. I like my book so far, she speaks a lot of encouraging words. She talks about personal experiences with her self esteem and how people use the word "pretty" to categorize others.
My response- I relate to Davani because my author speaks a lot of wisdom and encouraging words to motivate the readers.
Amani wrote: " the way you treat people determines how people view you."
My response- I agree with this statement so much because how you treat people determines the way they see you as a person.
Eliezer wrote: "a. I've read the introduction of the book so far and I like the book because it talks about the author experiences how he learned from them.
My response- I agree because the introduction of my book was the authors experience and how he got through his problems also.
A)This book is very hard to understand because of the vocab used. It makes you think very hard. But, I do like what the book is teaching me about humans minds and how they think. I also, like how the book is teaching you how to reach enlightenment. B) A very impacting passage was on page 14-15, it states, "identification with your mind, which causes thought to become compulsive. Not to be able to stop thinking is a dreadful affliction, but we don't realize this because almost everybody is suffering from it, so it is, considered normal. This incessant mental noise prevent you from finding that realm of inner stillness that is inseparable from Being. It also creates a false mind-made self that casts a shadow of fear and suffering. We will look at all that in more detail later." C) What I find challenging is the word the author uses. They are hard to understand. D) In the text on page 16-17 it relates to self management. It states, "then the mind is using you. You are unconsciously identified with it, so you don;t even know that you are its slave. It's almost as if you were possessed without knowing it, and so you take the possessing entity to be yourself." When you can't manage your thoughts and control them you have no self management.
By the end of the book I want to be able to understand why I am a over thinker and how to fix it. I tend to dwell on things and this book explains why people do it and things to help you fix it. This book dives into humans minds and why they think the way they do and I want to understand how to stay out of my head. The book talks a lot about how thinking is a disease and I tend to think way to much.
