CHALLENGE COMPLETED Read The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. Why? I have a collection of classics that I use as part of my decor because of their jacket art. I always intended on reading them.
Well? I did not enjoy it. I kept waiting for the point.
It stillooks good on the shelf.. haha.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED The Forgotten ROAD by Richard Paul Evans
A few years ago, I travelled part of Route 66. Because of that, I enjoyed this book. Not sure I would have otherwise.
3 stars.
Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T Sullivan CHALLENGE COMPLETED
A WWII book from the perspective of a forgotten hero. Horrific historical time. Pino Lella still lives today.
5 stars. Highly recommend.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED Harry's Trees by Jon Cohen
Slow, but worth it. Many lessons including Life has no guarantees, don't sit on the sidelines of Life, etc.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED Key Word: Book
Paris by the Book by Liam Callanan
Chasing dreams and realizing 'adulting' is hard but worth it.
Parenting as a team vs alone. The Red Balloon a book by Albert Lamorisse takes a much bigger part of the book than it shpuld, IMO.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED I thought this would be easy. Finding a 'classic' I hadn't read was the challenge. Found 2 that I thought I might enjoy and settled on Black Beauty.
This was fun to do, thanks.
Challenge Completed Key Word: Last
The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine
Fair. Not my type of read. 3 stars at best.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED- 32 Yolks by Eric Rupert.Bought this book 2 years ago on a road trip through Prescott, AZ at a cute Indie bookstore.
I've become a non-fiction reader in the last 5 years and always appreciate a NF that reads like a story.
While reading the book, the phrase "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" kept playing in my head...and then I would remind myself, that eventually (years after writing this book) it did.
If you are a foodie, you should read.
Challenge Completed. Key Word: LostRead The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
I enjoy this author. I had the book in my TBR pile. It was good, but predictable.
I was going to read The Lost Girls of Paris...but I've already read it. i could use some suggestions now
CHALLENGE COMPLETED. I read The Rosie Result by Graeme Simsion. I have enjoyed the entire trilogy about Don and Rosie. This might be my favorite.
Feel good, positive parent/child relationship was exactly what I needed.
CHALLENGE COMPLETED One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
I am surprised by how much I enjoyed this read. I have never seen the movie, but plan to do so now as well.
I expected a chaotic, somewhat pandering story. Not so.
I expected 'fluffy' content. Also, not so.
I will reread this book in the future. Very happy this book challenge opened the opportunity to read this story.
Challenge Completed - The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Glad I read it, equally glad I can now move on to February's Challenge!
Finished The Midnight Library. Great read. Highly recommend. I now have this quote next to my work space: " Never underestimate the big importance of small things."
I chose the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue for my January read. This is not my genre, but I am trying, but finding it difficult. Tell me the book gets better.
I've never done this. excited, but reserve the right to change mt mind. lolJanuary
