In my new novel (coming out on Thursday), Sunrise Destiny, there are aliens that evolved on an aquatic planet. Instead of eyes, they have light sensitive skin, giving them 360-degree vision, and because it's card to talk underwater, they communicate telepathically.

That also eliminates the need for a "universal translator" when they meet humans, because they communicate via images and concepts, not words. They project an image of a fish and we see it mentally and think "fish".

That's paranormal, isn't it?
