Alright. Thoughts: Ok I loved the book. I could easily see myself in her when I was in my 20’s. I found my “knowing” ages ago but it’s nice to reflect on where I used to be. I would recommend this book to people who really need help finding who they want to be. I love the way she tells stories!
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. Ok great. Rolda about to come on here and give us a earful though I can feel it lol
Ok. Don’t get me wrong the book was beautifully written but eh. I think I’ve read so many books with the interworkings of Harriet Tubman that I really thought this would be more original. I never got attached to any of the characters, almost like I didn’t get to know them I was only looking through the eyes of the author and not really placing myself in the story. Idk what did you guys think ?
You know it normally takes me at leas until half the book or even sometimes until the end to know if I like/love or hate a character. Sometimes the tides turn and if I get too attached I’ll be in shambles lol so I’ve learned to see it through. I do think everyone is text book character structure to this period in time. I’m waiting to be surprised.
Wow. Chapter 1 and I love how he uses his words to write this. Already I can see the correlation of the title to the writing.
