the chant shows how violent the boys have become, and how they've become less innocent.

Why do you think that the author made Simon the one who 'hears' the Lord of the Flies? (12 new)

I think it is because Simon is very quiet and thoughtful and because Simon knows that the beast is the savagery and loss of innocence in the other boys.

I agree with these ratings because I would give this book around a 4 because it's interesting but I like the characters in the previous books better.
