How did I miss knowing when the call was? Was it an email because gmail’s been eating some of my emails lately
I'm done but there's no rush to do it this week! I assumed I had blanked out and missed something like I usually do LOL.
I'm reading The Archaeology of Mind: Neuroevolutionary Origins of Human Emotions which is a fantastic book by Jaak Panksepp, who started the field of affective neuroscience. He established that there are 7 basic primary emotions common to all mammals (and to varying degrees in other clades). Personally I find this very helpful to understanding my own experiences. A good summary of that theory can be found in this Discover Magazine article. And a video of Panksepp tickling a rat to learn more about the emotion of play, which is one of my favorite things of all time, is here.
Hello! My name is I mostly read non-fiction and 9 times out of 10 it's about the brain (human and otherwise). However, I read Francis Halle's In Praise of Plants years ago and loved it, it's thrilling to read about how plants approach the challenges we have in common as life forms.
Also I just ordered an e-reader cuz I hate reading on my phone but I realized I can't be in a tree book club and just stare at the bodies of our fallen companions for hours.
