“The first object of teaching is to communicate such knowledge as may be useful in gaining other knowledge, to stimulate in the pupil the love of learning, and to form in him the habits of independent study.” - IntroductionI am reading this for the first time, so fellow classical educators are probably way ahead of me on this particular curve, but I am already so excited for this book!!
Read this the other day...'But we’re a university! We have to have a library!’ said Ridcully. ‘It adds tone. What sort of people would we be if we didn’t go into the Library?’

Love having lots of books going at once.

So here is what I'm thinking: We'll create a list of themes, pick a theme for each month, then vote on up to 4 books of the month that fit that theme. Those are the books we'll set up for book of the month, any or all of which you are welcome to read and/or discuss! Here are some themes I came up with. What others would you be interested in? Keep in mind that themes can transcend genre; a theme of "Marriage" could include practical marriage books, happily-ever-after sorts of fairy tales, theology, etc.

Yeah, I did, I wasn’t super impressed tbh; but I figured it was probably pretty different from the book. I will add that one to my list!
