111319 This is one of the best comics of all time and I want to be a part of your hangout when you discuss it.

111319 If it's a comic with a western theme you're in the mood for, then definitely check out East of West.

It's a wild sci-fi series involving a future where Texas is its own country. The four horsemen of the apocalypse are reborn to bring forth the end of days, except for Death, who's been wandering the Earth as a sheriff on a mechanical cricket.

Like I said, it's wild. But I absolutely love it and can't recommend it enough.
111319 Spidey's my all time favorite superhero, hands down. I love the origin, the powers, the attitude, the love interests, and, of course, the villains.

As one who spent a fair amount of time away from the comics scene, I found Marvel's Spider-Verse story arc overwhelming. It was interesting and imaginative, but not the best way to ease myself back into the Marvel Comics universe. Same thing goes for Secret Wars.

However, Renew Your Vows, the five issue Secret Wars tie-in, was just what I was looking for. It's an alternate Spidey, but with a classic feel. It's Peter. It's MJ. It's awesome and I highly recommend it.

111319 Overall, I enjoyed the series, but didn't go as crazy for it as others have.

I liked the cast and the darker direction of the story, but would've preferred to see more of what makes Daredevil a superhero. I don't think the series did a good enough job explaining/showing his unique abilities.

Put it this way: I don't see this incarnation of Daredevil fighting side by side with the Avengers yet - but it's a good start and makes me optimistic for the other Marvel Netflix shows yet to come.

111319 I read it earlier this year. I can remember the gist of it, but I guess it's time for a re-read.

111319 I'll never not read a book because of character's or creator's gender/sexual preference etc.

That being said, I'll also never read a book because of a character's or creator's gender/sexual preference etc.*

If the story's good, I'll read it. Plain and simple.

*This isn't entirely true. I bought an issue of Harley Quinn recently because I thought she looked pretty good on the cover. Don't judge me.

111319 I've been meaning to read Hawkeye, but after being underwhelmed by Sex Criminals, Matt Fraction got pushed back down the list a little.
