Just finished listening to the Whisper of Death podcast episode! I jumped in a little late, and missed Die Softly. I assumed Fat Freddy was another character from a different CP book that I either didn't remember or never got to. It's so funny to reread these with 2020 lenses on! Kids in the late 70's through very early 90's were a different breed from today's teens (I myself am a Latchkey Kid). I think they were way more independent. I hold up The Outsiders, the kids from It, and the kids from House of Stairs as examples. I think Rox had to be 18 in order for Pike to skip the whole parental permission for an abortion step here. I was a Stan fan too! Looking forward to reading The Midnight Club!
