Why Didn't They Ask Evans?by Agatha Christie
Why Didn't They Ask Evans is a thrilling wild-goose chase after an accident sends a stranger to his death, his last words a question. There are deceiving allies, staged accidents, and poisoning. Our main characters follow a thick situation involving revenge, jealousy, and acting to figure out this mystery. My favorite part about Why Didn't They Ask Evans is the plot. It's not always straightforward, and that keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are also unexpected plot twists, that shed light on some of the character's motives. I had fun reading this book, and I'd give it 4.5/5 stars; because some of the information is confusing and there are quite a few characters. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes murder mysteries.
Boxers & Saints by Gene Luen YangMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Boxers & Saints is an amazing book. It follows two conflicting perspectives in war. Boxers & Saints takes place in China, 1899. There are Boxers, who are fighting for freedom from the Europeans, who steal from villages and kill mercilessly. Saints are struggling to spread their religion, Christianity, peacefully without losing their friends and family. One of the reasons why I loved this book is that it provides both sides of the situation. Two perspectives on opposing sides of war. Most books only give one perspective, with only one main character. Boxers & Saints has two, with several essential side characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction or comic books.
