My Lovely Wife by Samantha DowningMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was perfect. "My Lovely Wife" is about a couple who decides to spice things up by killing people. The couple, Millicent and the narrator (unnamed) look online for profiles of people and they narrow it down to one woman, then the narrator meets the woman and decides if she is really the right one. The narrator has an alias where he is know as Tobias and he is deaf. The couple decides to recreate the crimes of a previous murderer, to fake out the cops. However, this becomes a bad idea very quickly, as the couples daughter Jenna becomes very scared of the serial killer and it severely impacts her mental health. Worrying about his daughter, the narrator thinks they should hold off on killing, but Millicent is determined and NOTHING will stop her now. This book is definitely twisted and gory, but I highly recommend it if you like psychological thrillers/murder mysteries. Overall, I loved "My Lovely Wife" and I think it teaches a lot about where to place your trust.

Saint Anything by Sarah DessenMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Saint Anything is a really good book. It is about the life of a younger sibling (Sydney) living in the shadow of her older, trouble making brother (Peyton). Peyton goes out one night drunk driving, hitting and paralyzing a kid. Sydney deals with her own grief as a result of this, and ends up leaving the school she has been at her entire life, looking for a change, where people do not know what her brother did. Sydney meets this girl, and the two become really close friends. Sydney shares how hard it is to live in the shadow of her older brother and his actions. Peyton is put in jail and Sydney's mother forgets Sydney exists, trying to help Peyton. Peyton's friend from rehab ands up watching Sydney most of the time. Sydney does not feel safe around him, and this book deals with the topic of expressing your feelings to your parents. This book is about Sydney's journey to find her own identity. I recommend this book for everyone, but especially younger siblings, because it talks about living in the shadow of an older sibling with a reputation, whether it is good or bad.
