Biography definitely counts, Ray. I've not read that one yet, but I've had a couple people recommend it.
Reviving this thread -- What's the best nonfiction you've read lately? Boom Town by Sam Anderson surprised me in the best possible ways. I don't know much about Oklahoma City -- never even visited -- or basketball, but this book taught me and made me care about both.
