Vincent, having grown up in 1, had had his fair share of snowstorms but he'd never needed to go that far - every house in the district had at least some form of heating, as far as he was aware. "You can try," he said to Crofton, piercing green eyes fixated on a random spot in the cave wall.
Vincent smirked, sensing a shift in the tension specifically coming from Kitt. "You alright there, goldenboy?" He glanced again around the cave, setting their things down near the corner and settling down against the wall. "Speaking of, we should probably find another hideout in the morning. This is just a temporary resting spot, got it? It'll be too cold and isolated here if we stay for long. No materials around."
((sorry I've been really busy lately I'm still on vacation))((I can make something happen with the arena if you want))
((Sorry, I'm going to be on a plane for a while and won't be able to post until tomorrow at the earliest! If Rue's available, maybe she can post first?))
((Ahh okay sorry I'm being picky but actually, since the entire arena is covered in snow, you could spot the footprints but there's no grass. also, there isn't any fresh snow to cover the tracks, so even if there were footprints, there would be a lot of them considering basically all of the tributes came to the cornucopia at one point or another to get weapons and stuff))
Vera's lips stretched into a thin, sneering smile as she tossed her backpack and water bottle to the ground, keeping her sword concealed by her side. Liam would surely be watching this now, sick with envy. He'd want to be here too, killing and winning and glorifying the Capitol's twisted little games. Too bad I'll have to stage my own death, she thought to herself, not feeling a drop of remorse or bad at all. It gave her a sort of satisfaction, knowing that she had some control over how she died.
It would be sure to disappoint her dear brother.
She slipped behind a rack opposite to Naja's and melted into the darkness behind it, nearly invisible due to her small frame.
And Vera watched, she waited, eyes gleaming.
"You both look like shit," Vincent remarked, taking a chunk of ice from the wall of the cave. He handed it over to Kitt and said "you can use that, although there's plenty more where it came from." This whole...encounter, their alliance, it was a little unnerving.
He hadn't expected to have an ally at all, let alone be reasonably friendly with them.
It reminded him too vividly of Theo, though he didn't give a shit about him anymore. When Vincent won the games, he'd go back to district one and track him down.
And then he'd finish him off for good.
Once she'd finished emptying out all of the racks, Vera carried some of them towards the entrance to the Cornucopia. After a beat of silence, she said, "We can start stacking them until it gets high enough, in the middle of the traps." Since the trip wires were already set up, it'd be easy enough to kill the tributes who would get caught in them.Vera sighed, almost inaudibly.
She wasn't sure what her end goal was, anyways - she'd always had some sort of purpose, a plan in mind, but now...
Not so much.
She was basically just waiting it out at this point, long enough until she could get killed and have it mean something, or kill herself and make it mean something. Assuming Naja didn't stab her in the back first; which would honestly be fine, if later on in the games. Naja had an end goal, and it was revenge.
She admired that, but couldn't bring herself to want or care to live long enough to accomplish it. The only thing she could do was steel herself and keep surviving, to focus on what was right in front of her.
Vincent stopped at a small cave on the path, leading the way in. "Goldenboy, you sure your scrapes are okay? We can at least wash them out with glacier water, although it'll be cold," he suggested.
((Ahhhh sorry!))Vincent walked ahead of the two, keeping a slow but reasonable pace. They couldn't afford to die by falling off a glacier. "I don't know exactly," he said, frowning. "We should be able to find a crevice or some sort of area along the path up to the glacier - there's no way we'll be able to reach the top of it, anyways. We find a place to rest."

"Yes, I am brilliant," Vincent said pointedly. "Anyways, Kitt's right; be quiet for a few minutes, Crofton. At least until we reach the glacier, there shouldn't be anyone else there, otherwise we'd see them."((post at the glacier?))
Vincent gestured for the two of them to follow. "Let's head to the glacier," he said, tilting his head towards the glacier, barely visible through the fog in the distance.
