Of course you may. I'm glad you asked about the TV celebrity. Her name was Perwin. She was from Kerkuk city. She gave me permission to share a room with two other students at the university dorm. I hope Perwin somehow finds out that I still remember her and what she did for me. I've been trying to find her, but so far have been unable.

Mary wrote: "Hi Widad, I'm curious, where was this photo taken?"
Hi Mary, Thanks for your question. The photo was taken in New York, Manhattan. I am facing the UN headquarters. We, the NGOs, were arranging a side event to draw attention to the illicit arms trade and to ask Member states to adopt a resolution on a legally-binding treaty that would prevent the use of these arms in attacks against civilians, acts of terrorism, crimes against humanity or war crimes.
My best wishes to you for the new year!

I'm grateful for your compassion. Yes, it was tough. I experienced a lot of pain. But, as you know, pain is part of life. I reminded myself that there is no life that is free of pain. I decided to feel the pain instead of numbing it.
Thank you for your kind words. Wishing you and your loved ones Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Bob wrote: "Howdy Widad. How long did it take to write your memoir? How challenging was it to write it?"Howdy Bob. It took me many years. My health wasn't allowing me to write as much as I wished. Therefore, I had to write short passages until I finished it in 2003.
