114052 I just finished listening to No One Goes Alone by Erik Larson. This is a really cool audio. only ghost story set in Victorian times. it is Larson's only for a into fiction that I know of. He's one of my favorite non-fiction writers though.

114052 I'm here for book recommendations, and reviews from people I know! I use goodreads to track what I have read, or else I might forget!
114052 This is the best book I have read in a long time. It is also comparable to The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, but much more emotionally charged. An amazing coming of age story.

114052 Born on a Mountaintop: On the Road with Davy Crockett and the Ghosts of the Wild Frontier by Bob Thompson. It is surprisingly funny and entertaining.

My blind date review:
The Manhattan Beach Project
by Peter Lefcourt
I got into this book as I was reading it. This is well written suspense and action with funny commentary on the entertainment industry. This book fails the Bechdel test. The female characters are shallow and belittled.

I was given this book at the library in the "blind date with a book" program. I probably won't read any more Lefcourt, but I will totally let the library set me up again sometime!

I have been planning on re-reading the whole series anyway. The Magician's Nephew has always been my favorite. I hope they get to it sometime. So far these movies have been fairly true to the books and fantastic.
