50x66 Finally finished Frankenstein. Holy cow there is a lot to think about in that book. What happened to a good no brainer horror? I did enjoy it though except next time I think I might read it in October when it starts to get cold outside.
If anyone else has read this then let me know if you liked Dr. Frankenstein because he drove me crazy. It seemed like he was constantly playing the victim when he brought his problems on himself. Of course, I think that might have been the point of the book!

50x66 This week I started Mary Shelley's Frankenstein thinking I would throw a good horror type book in my mix of feel good reads. Hmmm, now my husband is coming home to major book discussions. Anyone else like this one?

50x66 Has anyone every heard of librivox? If you go to www.librovox.org you can listen to audio books off your computer for free. It is a volunteer thing so you might get six different people reading the same book (so you would have a different voice for chapter 2 then you did for chapter 1) but you can't beat the price! I started listening to Journey to the Center of the Earth yesterday and decided to go pick it up today as my January read. Not a devoid of thought book but I'll watch the new movie when I'm done to make it count ;)

50x66 Now that the holidays are over and I have a moment to reflect.....:)
We bought our daughter 'Flight of the Reindeer' this season. It has accounts from Sir Edmund Hillary, Will Steger, and George Bush plus plausible evidence that reindeer do fly and Santa is real. Perfect for that age when they are starting to question. Beautiful and not at all cheesy.

50x66 I have heard of the Little Lady Agency but haven't read it yet. I am going to the library today so I think I might put it on my list. I'll let you know what I think. I liked Austenland. Not a thinker by any means but kinda fun if you like P&P and the likes. I really liked The Bee Apprentice. It is a spinoff of Sherlock Holmes with girl as the main character.

50x66 I think everyone needs to post at least one favorite holiday book. It can be anything from 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' to 'A Christmas Carol'. You don't have to read it this holiday just let us know what you liked about it.
