Some audiobooks are easily found for free on Spotify and Youtube, so you could try some of those first to see if she enjoys those. Books that are good for reading aloud at least for me are things like the Hobbit or the Narnia books, but it really depends on what kind of book your mother enjoys!!
i just read whatever im on at the moment, but i prefer easy and feel good novels usually! i love reading on holiday (usually in the sun outside or by a body of water) its one of my favourite parts!
i think each book has its perfect medium! for some books the reading experience is better with audiobooks, others on my phone (like reading a fanfic), others i need to underline and comment so physical books are best. unfortunately i don't always find myself reading a book in its "perfect medium" which sucks ahaha i can't really tell the future though. as a general rule, i do love physical books most!
right now im reading Paul takes the form of a mortal girl by Andrea Lawlor! i've never read anything that feels more accurate to my own queer experience and it's so good. i will say, it is quite explicitly nsfw, i know that's not everyone's cup of tea, but aside from that, im pretty sure this is going to be one of my favourite books
honestly i was looking for some easy literature that i can go to when i don't feel like putting my thinking cap on and im . uh. reading twilight now. i just find it incredibly entertaining
totally! i'm currently reading Paul takes the form of a mortal girl by Andrea Lawlor and the main character is ALWAYS talking about music – he mentions so many songs and artists – either because they're playing in the background or because he has something to say about them. I'm making a playlist with every mentioned artist or song that is in the book and honestly, most of them are 90s bops. this book is amazingly good for that and a lot of other reasons. it's the first playlist for a book i've done, but im getting a taste for it! i might do it in the future with other books
i just realised why im finding it so hard to get through, it objectively isn't slow, but it's so incredibly *dense* that it's hard to get through
deffo a lot happens all through the book, but it is all kind of a build up to... i don't know yet. i Am a slow reader though and reading on my phone is proving worse than i thought, so maybe that's it mfnfn (also i've gotten to the gay part. like, it's all pretty gay because Gideon, but i've gotten to the Gay gay part)
i've just started act four and i feel like its just been a slow build and i haven't quite gotten to the exciting parts yet
honestly same, i never thought id get the drive to read more than one book at a time and now im reading several THERE ISNT ENOUGH TIME
i read to chapter 12 being extremely bored and now im really starting to get hooked, im about halfway through
yeah its taking me about double the time, but im excited to know what happens. kinda confused rn eheh
there were no bookshops with the english version of the book so i got it online!! we can start reading whenevr u want ndndnc
