started "Darius the Great is not okay" (isn't this title a mood) I obviously can't relate on a feeling out of place in both US and Iran, but
I can relate on a mental health stuff and not knowing how to talk to your grandparents %)
and I just started Phoenix Extravagant, which is about a nonbinary artist and automatons they activate with their art? I think? very excited about that
I just finished the Shadow of the Wind, which was a confusing experienceI'll get into the mysterious story and then suddenly there is an icky description of female characters or a police brutality scene and just... why
suggestion: after we read the sequel and would maybe be interested in a final book which comes out next year maybe we can read something else
my first thought was Crier's war, but maybe someone else wants to suggest something :eyes:
well, I DID read all the existing "The song of ice and fire" books, so a bunch of characters is a thing that does not scare me :D (I probably can't put most names to faces, but I do distinguish them all as belonging to different houses)
its actually translated to Russian, I can show it to my sib!!(also at no point did I think it's slow, hmmmmmmm
I DID think the later part goes very fast )
ohfxvnktsc, wanted to finish the book and realised my subscription didn't go through, because the money is on the wrong card xD hopefully later today is the day
I'm a third of the way in and I'm vibing so far. Should we... go for the second one after it's done?
curiously enough, I'm reading fanfiction on my phone just fine, but books... books are a struggle. Audio is saving me for the last couple of years
I am going to start House of Leaves and see how deep into it I can get without quitting (I have no idea what it's about, but I'm trying to read it for a book club and its advertised as being terrifying?..)
I'm generally cautious of Sherlock Holmes stories not written by Arthur Conan Doyle (which is weird, cause fanfiction is great) and also... wouldn't exactly call any detective story cosy?.. but it is intriguing
