I definitely prefer physical books, but I'm not opposed to reading on a Kindle or my phone if that's an easier way to get the book or if the situation calls for it (travelling, reading in bed, etc)! Lately I've been checking to see if I borrow audiobooks from the library when I get really engrossed in something -- that way I can keep reading even when I need to do some cleaning or something that I can't do while reading a physical book or ebook.
I make playlists for books all the time! I have an embarrassing number of them, lol. Some are for general vibes while reading, others are inspired by books or characters I really liked, and some are just collections of songs mentioning a specific writer or thing (eg, Greek mythology or Shakespeare). But I'm *terrible* at curating them -- they end up just being massive piles of music, because sometimes when I'm really into a book, everything reminds me of it.
I’ve just started the fourth act! I haven’t found the book slow at all, personally. The ending of the third act destroyed me so I’m now *very* scared as to the whole book’s ending. (I have a Theory but I hope it’s wrong.)
I was able to get it on a 7 day loan, which probably isn’t enough time for me to finish it since I’m super busy right now — but I’ll see what I can figure out at that point! I do think I can get the audiobook on loan for longer, so maybe i’ll switch to that! Only read the first chapter but I’m very intrigued...
Aaah, in the chaos of moving I forgot about this; I will see if I can get the book from the library!
Oh, I have heard of cozy mysteries — I believe they are just mysteries without much violence? But it’s so misleading to just market it as “cozy”! That’s so confusing ...
Ooh, I’ll join you in reading Gideon the Ninth, if I’m able to get a copy soon enough. It sounds so interesting!
Persepolis! I also have been meaning to read that at some point! The movie was excellent. For some reason, Amazon is really trying hard to sell me on "How to Read a Dress" and "How to Read a Suit"! I'm not usually that interested in fashion, but they seem like they could be fun to read.
I'm still reading The Office of Historical Corrections, which is excellent, but it deals with a lot of really heavy issues around race, gender, and so forth, so it's not something I'm always in the mood for and I've been putting off reading the last story a bit.
Circe and The Night Circus are both on my list to read soon! I'm currently reading The Office of Historical Corrections.
