anybody else feel like as soon as something cool happens in this book, it immediately stops and there's a hundred pages of filler until the next time something cool happens?

I'M ALMOST DONE

I like this one even though it's depressing:

"I had seen God, but God was gone."

It's pretty intense, but in one line it captures just how extreme the narrator's persepective swings.
