115605 Earlier this year The Ripped Bodice released their 2017 Diversity Survey--and the results were appalling. While no author should be boiled down to their race rather than their talent, it is important to give all authors the opportunities to avenues to success that they deserve, and one way readers can help with that is to purchase books.

After this study came out I have resolved to support with my dollars, and have been purchasing at least one physical book per month by an author of color. [Background, I rarely purchase books, but rather utilize the public library and Little Free Libraries]

The first book I bought was A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole, and really enjoyed it! I tend to gravitate towards Regency romance books, so reading a contemporary romance was a little different for me, but so much fun.

I primarily use twitter to find new authors, but if there is an author of color in romance you really enjoy please share their books here!

115605 Hey APWers!

This group has languished in neglect for years, and I can't promise I'll keep it up with the new members, so if there are others who are willing to be moderators please let me know!

In the mean time, I like what I'm seeing in the discussions thread (genres), but feel free to add discussion threads as you see fit (trends, authors, good parts, stay away from these books, etc)
