1166052 Congrats. Can’t imagine that’s an easy plat.
1166052 That is a very nice TV. It will be a massive upgrade. I’ve recently bought the S95f and the image quality is truly a step up. Very little difference between the S90f and S95f - there are a few - but largely the image quality is comparable except for a tad more brightness on the S95f, although the S90 is plenty bright, and the s90 has a glossy screen whereas the S95 is matte, which is mainly a preference. You’ll love it. I’ve had a few minor issues with mine but they seem to be software based and resolved with a soft reset - long 10 second press on the power button on the remote, in case you ever need it ;-).

By the way. I recommend turning off HDR10+ in the TV gaming menu as the PS5 doesn’t do HDR10+ and since I disabled it all of my issues haven’t recurred so far - still keeping my fingers crossed, it’s only been a week but previously I was soft resetting the TV every day. And turn off low power mode (not to be confused with auto power down) as it dims the image. And go for Static over Active (frame by frame) HDR. Active over brightens the image, for me. Depends on your preference but active is exceptionally bright and a little washed out. Might save you some pain when calibrating your image.
1166052 Flippin eck Deckard splashing the cash a bit at the moment. Which TV did you pull the trigger on?
1166052 The new BF6 is excellent, well, the multiplayer. The campaign is fine, enjoyable enough without being anything special and the campaign trophies are straightforward. The plat is pretty straight forward now it has a causal mode which is made up of 16 players and the rest pretty dumb bots. Just a bit time consuming and laborious for the defibrillator trophy mainly. I’d play the multiplayer as normal in 100% player lobbies as it is fun and then the trickier multiplayer trophies in a casual lobby - to get the most of it without it being a boring chore.
1166052 The Great Circle is excellent. I’ve not played the DLC.
1166052 I did consider Expedition 33, which I think it is on games pass, but kinda looks not my thing but perhaps I should give it a go. Anyone played it?

I enjoyed playing Gears 1 again for the third time. The MP not so much.
1166052 Yea nothing for me either but I am getting Ghost of Yotei off the missus for Christmas. There is literally nothing else game wise on my wishlist which is already out.
1166052 I completed the Blops 7 co-op campaign yesterday. It’s only 5-6 hours long. It’s getting an absolute panning by fans but I liked it but with big caveats. It’s defo a fun campaign with lots of variety best described as left4dead style with curated linear levels and an objective based open world level whilst having elements of the zombie mode. There are some really excellent linear levels. The big issue is it has to be played CO-OP and always online. You can play it solo, still need to be online, but the enemy numbers don’t scale down according to player numbers so it would be exceptionally frustrating playing it on your own. With randoms it was fine but you need at least three of you as some missions have relentless enemies. It’s all nightmare psychological based mainly too which isn’t my bag but it did make some of the levels a bit ‘out there’ bat sheet crazy. It’s defo much better than 2-3/10 some gamers are giving it. For me a 6-7/10 but if it would have been a scalable single player game which could also be played in CO-OP then could have been a 9/10 because it’s defo a curated experience and not some collection of maps with random objectives, well mostly.

And nearly every mission has an end of level boss and the first boss fight is by far the worst. And some other boss fights are so ‘out there’ I can understand some of the review bombing.
1166052 Yea there were some tricky trophies but they added a casual mode where the lobby is two thirds bots so made it a lot easier. The 10 takedowns and 6 pistol headshot kills in a game then became easy. In a normal lobby they would have been a nightmare. The annoying trophy was 2000 defib revives but in a bot lobby I could get 50 to 100 per game. That took me a couple of lengthy sessions but strangely was good to win nearly every game so probably a good tactic anyway.
1166052 I don’t do many pings but….Ping! Battlefield 6.
1166052 That’s a relief then lol.

I’ve been gaming quite a bit but taken a break the last few days from gaming. I completed Keeper by Double Fine. Excellent game and when it comes to PS5 I highly recommend it. The artwork is the best I’ve seen probably. And more recently I completed Outer Worlds 2 and it’s excellent. Better than the first - seemed bigger and more interesting varied environments and combat was fun with all the bizarre weapons. Loved it. Both 9/10 games for me. I have nothing planned to play except Blops 7 which some would say isn’t a proper game ;-). Still on the fence whether to pull the trigger on Ghost of Yotei.
1166052 Flippin eck Deckard you live! I guess you’ve been on an around the world tour or a marathon gaming session lasting months?
1166052 Got my new OLED TV. Absolutely stunning picture. Big improvement with popping HDR and colours, and deep blacks. Been playing a few games and I’m noticing striking differences. My previous TV was a Samsung QLED and it’s a great TV but OLED just pops much more. Very happy. Exactly what I was hoping for. A bit of an indulgence purchase but I’ve been wanting it for some time and caved after 18 months of refusing myself due to my previous TV not being that old. Honestly you can’t beat OLED. Completely happy now - well on my gaming TV. And 65 inch ;-).
1166052 Where’s Deckard these days? Normally he’s the most active of all of us, of the 3 or 4 of us still here. Has he finally escaped?

Yea my PS sub drops to essential later this month. And like you not played much of what’s on Extra. In fact essential monthly games seem to be better for me.

I’m subbed up on Game Pass Ultimate until April 2028 - cost me £0. I still think it’s good value at the new price as the day one releases are usually pretty good and frequent but at the same time the new price (to me) goes over the point where I’d pay for it from month to month and I’ll more likely dip in and out once my sub runs out. And no doubt it’ll be even more expensive by then.

In other news I’ve scratched an itch I’ve had for quite some time. I’ve bought an OLED TV for my gaming setup. It arrives tomorrow. Very excited. Broke the bank but I want one :-).

World at War on 360 is hacked to death last time I played it. Battlefield 6 this weekend for me and for the weeks and months to come.
1166052 It’s not free. Once you get the digital trophy you have to pay for the physical item. A bit like unlocking the right to shop. And it’s standard prices.

1166052 Think I’m in the sheet parallel universe again. Microsoft have increased games pass ultimate subscription by 50% - £23 now! And Sony have replaced their rewards program with something where you must earn the trophies first before you unlock the reward you have to pay for - like a T-shirt or decorative pin - like they’re doing us a favour. Taking the pee is what I call it - both of them.
1166052 I’ve completed HZD remastered. Very enjoyable and perhaps appreciated it more the second time around. Well worth the cost to upgrade to the remastered version.

Nothing to play now so think I’ll take a break too until BF6 release. I might play a bit of multiplayer while I wait.

Yea I watched the State of Play. Only things for me were the BF6 campaign looks to have potential and Wolverine is defo on my radar now - much more impressive than I was expecting. The gore looks great. I was worried it would be a tame Spider-Man clone with lots of jumping around a city rather than swinging and a few bits of red for blood. Other than that nothing else caught my attention including Soros which isn’t my kinda game really.

I’ve also been upgrading my gaming set-up. I’ve wall mounted my TV which has vastly improved the look and feel. It’s so clean looking now with the TV flush to the wall and no wires visible. And I’ve binned off the soundbar and replaced it with powered separated speakers which now give proper stereo separation. And they’re powerful, loud (100W per channel) and lots of bass. They’ve made a massive difference to the immersion. And I can hear where directionally the enemy are coming from now - just like you get with headphones but rocking the room instead. Should have done it earlier.
1166052 And there was me thinking I was the last one standing.

I was struggling to find a game to play so I reluctantly thought I’d give HZD remaster a go fully expecting to get bored and bin it off after 30 minutes (having played it before back in the day). And before I know it I’m hooked and loving it. I’m near the end of the campaign and I’ve probably enjoyed it a lot more this time around. Not going for trophies but just a main line campaign play through. Looks gorgeous too graphically on the Pro.
1166052 I guess everyone is too busy dying on Borderlands 4.
1166052 I’m struggling to motivate myself to replay HZD or TLOU2 again. I found HZD a real chore in the latter half of the game and TLOU2 I really loved but it’s a really long game - took me about 30 hours to complete it. I suppose I could play either/both to the point I’ve had enough as I finished them both before so no biggy if I don’t complete them a second time.
