No specific theme or topic suggested yet so feel free to throw out anything! It's December so hopefully we all have a bit of time off in there to get some extra reading done.
Post any suggestions for our November group read. We'll leave this up for a week and then get a poll going! There was one suggestion that we try to focus on indigenous authors this month as in the States, later this month, we'll turn our attention to Thanksgiving and the ways in which in marks atrocities committed against indigenous people. I love this idea, but feel free to suggest anything else as well.
Our August book is The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu. On the discord, we have a thread set up within #general-chat called #reading-room. Post your thoughts (w/ spoiler tags) as you read and plan on a wrap up discussion at the end of the month!
Steve wrote: "Does Fahrenheit 451 fit the genre? That's one I'd like to read with a group."definitely! (I've taught that text before which could make me a bit annoying in discussions)
Our poll has concluded and Genre Fiction: Sci-Fi, Horror, and Mystery is our winner! Use this discussion board to throw out ideas for books to read. We'll make a new poll with the suggested titles and put it up this week to vote on.
If there's any interest in an August group read, feel free to throw ideas around here regarding specific genres to explore! If it seems like there are significantly divergent genre interests, we could always have a few options to pick from and separate places to discuss them within this group.
