Rhia was in her bed, reading a book. She was tired. Tired of living with her family, tired of living in this small place, tired of being in Candor, and just tired in general. She couldn't believe that she'd made it as far as she had. The choosing ceremony was just a few months away. She was desperate to get out and go be with the people like her, the Erudite. The people like her father had been. She felt a lump rise in her throat. She closed her eyes. She just wanted to be there already!
She didn't even need the aptitude test to know that's where she belonged. She knew she was smart enough, the real challenge would be surviving long enough to get there. She put her book down. She didn't feel like reading anymore anyway. She opened her eyes and sat up against the wall and ran her fingers through her hair, trying not to cry.
She had no friends here. At least she would fit in and find other smart people to be friends with in Erudite, but until then she had to wait. But she had already waited what felt like sixteen years too long.
Rhia pulled out her ipod and her earbuds, putting them in her ears and plugging them into the ipod. She put on her favorite playlist and turned up the volume. She curled up on her side in her bed and closed her eyes again, soaking in the music. She felt tears trickle through her closed eyelids, catching on her eyelashes. She turned up the volume, drowning out her emotions.

Can I have a small place for Rhia, her mom and her brother to live in Candor, please?

I might make a guy eventually. Also I just invited like thirty people to this group so we'll see who joins and makes characters and maybe we can do the choosing ceremony soon!

Personality~ Rhia is shy, intelligent, sweet (to some people), ambitious, determined, funny, and emotional (but she hides in front of people it well). She is also very quiet and is slow to trust people. She is self-conscious and will avoid talking to people if she doesn't have to, especially extroverted people, since Rhia herself is introverted. But when Rhia finds that she does trust someone enough to befriend them, she will be very kind and friendly towards them.

Likes~ Reading, thinking, school, math, logic, knowledge, learning, writing poetry, being alone, flowers, sweaters, the color blue, studying, music, and doing experiments.

Dislikes~ Talking to people, her family, Candor, when things are imperfect, bugs, the cold, dirt, sports, being forced to do things, and being told what to do.

Fears~ That she'll never be good enough, the Candor initiate test, trusting someone but having them betray her, and getting bad grades.

History~ Rhia was born in Candor. Her mother was born in Amity but chose Candor when she met Rhia's father who was divergent. He was born in Erudite, but chose Candor because he had a passion for truth and believed that dishonesty was the cause of war. He worked as a high position lawyer, which was a good paying job. Rhia's mother grew to appreciate honesty, agreeing with her husband because she loved him, though it was never her absolute passion to be in Candor. They had two children in Candor, Rhia, their firstborn, and Rhia's brother Matthew, who is two years younger than her.
They all lived happily in Candor until Rhia was five years old. That was the year that her parents got divorced. They had gotten into lots of arguments over the years about how Rhia's mother didn't have a job, and Rhia's father was slightly angry about this because he felt he had to support the family by himself at work everyday, and his job kept him at work very often so that he was almost never home while the children were awake, and he felt that this should change. He wanted his wife to get a job and "stop being a disgrace to the name Candor." That was all he wanted from her.
However, she refused, saying that she had to care for the children while he was away at work all day, and she got even angrier at him for trying to manipulate her.
In the end, it was Rhia's mother who called for the divorce, declaring that she was done with him and that she didn't know why she ever loved him to begin with. So Rhia's father moved out, and Rhia and her brother got to visit him every other weekend since Rhia's mother had won custody despite Rhia's father's connections in the law industry. Rhia's mother had played the "I'm helpless, I don't have a job" card to win, and this even resulted in Rhia's father having to pay a sum of money to her each time he got a pay check. As you can image, he was immensely frustrated by this.
This went on for another four years, until the bank took away their old family house where Rhia's mother had been living with Rhia and her brother. Apparently Rhia's mother had been using the money for other things besides paying the house bills. In any sense, they still had to move, so Rhia's mother found an apartment in a different town. The children continued visiting their father. And this continued for another three years.
When Rhia was twelve, her father was diagnosed with cancer. He died later that year. Rhia was devastated. She hated herself for not spending more time with him. And she was also angry that she was the only one who seemed to care that he had died. Her mother had stopped caring about anything years ago and her brother was her mother's pet. Though Rhia supposed he didn't know any better, seeing as he was only three years old when they were divorced. Rhia became depressed and stopped being as kind and friendly as she once was.
They continued to live in their small apartment in Candor, her mother still refusing to get a job, after receiving some money from her ex-husband's death. Though not nearly enough. And that's where Rhia has lived for four more years, determined to leave and go to Erudite as soon as the choosing ceremony happens.
