My final title is
by Loretta Chase. I've had the ebook for a while, but a new audio version came out just before Christmas, so I listened to that.I do tend to use audiobooks as a way of getting through my TBR pile sometimes, especially when they're of older titles or in long-running series when I haven't had time to read the earlier books.
Anyway, if that one counts, that's my 24 and I've scaled Mont Blanc!
I've just finished book number 23 in my quest to climb Mont Blanc - one more to go, which I'm sure I'll manage before the end of the month. My year in review:
Describe yourself: The Luckiest Lady in London
Describe where you currently live: The Burning Sky
If you could go anywhere where would you go?: Firelight
Every Monday morning I look/feel like: Prospero's Daughter
The last time I went to the doctor/therapist was because: I was: Marrying The Royal Marine
When a creepy guy/girl asks me for my phone number, I: dance The Devil's Waltz
Some people need to spend more time: working on their: Secrets Of The Night
My memoir could be titled: Till Next We Meet
If I could, I would tell my teenage self: Secrets of a Summer Night
I've always wondered: if Love Is Blind
Just finished
, another Christmassy title. That leaves one more to go which I'm sure I'll manage by the end of the year.Phew!
Diane wrote: "You can see the summit I bet...lol...well done."I can see it - but I still have to get there!
One more book down:
One more book and one more audio down:
and
(audio). I'm just starting
, which will bring me to 20. Hopefully, I can squeeze in another four titles and make the summit!
I'm slipping a bit now unfortunately! I've only managed another two books in the last couple of months:
and
.Plus the audiobook of
, which I think puts me at 17 in total so far.
Another one down from the big pile of used paperbacks by the bed!
] - and I'm about to start another one, so I'm still slightly ahead of target.
As of the end of June I was at 14 books, which is two ahead of the half-way point in my aim of 24. I've also added one more since the beginning of July, so I'm now up to 15.
Diane wrote: "well done being ahead in your readin..I'm 3 behind in my challenge...mojo gone walkabouts..!"Well, I aimed lower this year. Last year I was three short of target (36) so I thought I'd make it easier this year!
Karen wrote: "Two books ahead...nice :)"It is :) With any luck, I'll be able to keep ahead of myself so I don't fall down at the last moment :P
This quarter's reads:The Devil's Waltz by Anne Stuart
At Your Pleasure by Meredith Duran
To Kiss a Thief by Kate Moore
Marrying The Royal Marine by Carla Kelly
Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros
Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas (this was an audiobook I've been meaning to listen to for ages!)
With seven last quarter, I'm now two books ahead :)
ETA: I think I mistakenly counted the Kleypas twice - damn!
I'm late to the party, but I'm going to check in anyway.I signed up for the Mt. Blanc challenge (24 books) and so far I've read the following:
The Leopard Princeby Elizabeth Hoyt, which is tied for favourite with:
The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas.
Secrets Of The Night by Jo Beverley
Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands
Fair Shine the Day by Sylvia Thorpe
Forbidden Jewel of India by Louise Allen and
Gabriel: Lord of Regrets by Grace Burrowes.
I think the book on my TBR list the longest was probably The Leopard Prince and I should definitely have read it earlier, because it's a terrific read.
That's seven books, which puts me one ahead of schedule. I hope I can manage as many next quarter.
I daren't even contemplate the size of my TBR pile. I know I've got over 900 marked as "to read" here - eek!But I didn't quite make the summit of Mt Vancouver last year - I was 3 books short - so I'm scaling it back to Mt Blanc. If I manage a few more, then I'll be even happier :)
I've managed to read two books I bought in 2013 - Forbidden Jewel of India by Louise Allen and The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas.
I'm going to try to make a dent in the rather large pile of second-hand paperbacks sitting by my bed this year as well as getting through some of the books that have been sitting on my Kindle for over a year.
Being a glutton for punishment, I'm back again this year ;)I didn't quite make it all the way up Mt. Vancouver last year, so I'm setting a more modest goal for 2014.
