Hey Brian,Hope all is well. Unfortunately, I haven't signed up for the channel it's on, but I've heard good things. Love Ewan McGregor, he's quite charismatic. Hayden Christensen seemed to get a lot of stick when the films came out, I never had a problem with him. The child actor in episode 1 was terrible though lol. Pleased you are enjoying the series so far.
Thanks, Brian, I'm aiming for October time. I'll keep you posted. I usually make my work free at points during the year so I'll tell you when one of those periods comes up. Save you a few quid.
Hey buddy, sound like you've been busy. Hang in there mate, the weekend doth approach! And there are simply so many books to take you to fantastical faraway lands or remarkable events. My week has been ok. Work and kids. With the odd read thrown in. I'm continuing to edit the second draft of my next novella (*PLUG ALERT*). Finding the time continues to be tricky. Only this evening I was trying to get through a paragraph when my youngest kept demanding my attention. I can confirm that wiping a child's bottom mid-edit is a great way to lose your train of thought.
I'm still working my way through 'Consider Phlebas', by Iain Banks. Enjoying it and can't wait to find out how it ends.
Take it easy my friend :)
I've just been reading about Dionysian. Sounds like an interesting character. I think any god who likes wine needs to get my vote :)
Hey Brian, I've been thinking about the connections between mythology and modern superhero films like marvel, etc. I guess the obvious ones would be the likes of Thor and Loki who have a clear connection (at least in the name!). I don't know to what extent the old myths link in with the new storylines (you and your friends might know). Generally, I suspect themes like power, love, sacrifice, heroes, and villains, travel from old mythology to modern media. On the flip side, I reckon they probably get massively Americanised when they reach Hollywood. (I don't really have a clue what I'm talking about though. Just winging it :)

Hi Des, welcome to the group. I haven't read many books about mythology but I can see there's a lot of interest here, so maybe I will. You won't be disappointed by Brave New World, it's lots of fun :)

I recently finished Brave New World and it was great! Never read it before, not sure why. Anyway, I would definitely recommend it if you haven't read it. Interesting ideas and I found it to be quite funny. Great characters as well. What about you? Any good ones on the go?
Hi there,I love science fiction and fantasy books. I enjoy the odd classic thrown in to shake it up a bit. I live in London, England with my family. Congrats on the forthcoming little one Michelle. Thanks for the invite, Brian. Nice to meet you both :)
